The TexShare Library Card program provides free reciprocal borrowing privileges to faculty, students, and staff of Texas colleges and universities.
Responsibilities of the Borrower**
The TexShare card entitles you only to the privileges authorized by the lending library and is not transferable. For students to be eligible for the TexShare card, you must be currently enrolled and a student in good standing at one of The University Center partner universities. Certain rules apply to participants in the program:

• You must present identification as required.
• Observe the regulations for each individual lending library.
• Return materials to the lending library in person OR to The University Center for delivery via TExpress OR by first class, insured mail as prescribed by the lending library.
• Pay charges assessed for late return, damage, or loss of materials.
• Surrender the card if requested by any TexShare library staff member.

Obtaining a TexShare Card
TexShare Cards issued to students are valid for the current semester only. They must be renewed before the beginning of each semester. Faculty and staff participants need to contact their home universities for special extensions. To apply for a TexShare Card, you may complete and submit the form online.

The University Center librarian will contact your home university to verify your students status. Upon approval, the librarian will contact you and you can come to The University Center Library, Room 300 to pick up your new TexShare Card. You may also print the application, sign it, and bring it to The University Center Library for processing. Please allow 2-3 days for processing the application.

**Failure to adhere to the above rules will result in the loss of borrowing privileges and your record blocked at your home university.**
