- When is the library open?

The librarian is available as needed for assistance with research in the library. No appointment is necessary but you might check to make sure she will not be off-campus when you need help. Faculty can schedule library instruction for their individual classes. The instruction can take place in the library or the librarian can come to the classroom.- How can I find magazine, journal or newspaper articles?
The University Center databases are available when you are on campus at TUC and several TUC partner libraries provide off-campus access to their on-campus collection of databases & indexes.- How do I get a login or password to access the databases from home or work?
- Your HOME campus university library will provide a login & password if off-campus access is possible.

- Where are the books?
The University Center library has a small collection of ready reference books, such as dictionaries, thesauri and style manuals. All TUC partner libraries have online catalogs that can be searched using keywords, titles or author names. Most of the partner libraries will allow distance learning students special off-campus borrowing privileges. Check the interlibrary loan rules for your individual library. Both books and articles can be quickly and conveniently delivered to TUC by courier or to an individual student via mail service.If I have an article citation or abstract how do I get the full-text article?
If the full-text of the article is not available online from one of the subscription databases at TUC or your home library then you can use the online interlibrary loan forms. The article will be delivered by courier to TUC for easy pickup or mailed to your home.
- Don't forget to use JAKE to find the correct database location if you are looking for individual journal/magazine titles.
- Always check your home university online catalog to be sure they subscribe to the journal/magazine title you need.
I'm done with my paper, how to I document/cite the resources I used?
You may pick from the many online citation Web sites listed on the Writing Resources page. TUC library also maintains a collection of handouts which includes citation guidelines for MLA, APA and others.How do I get a TexShare card?
Use the online applicaton to apply for a TexShare card. Be sure to carefully read the requirements and benefits of this extraordinary library sharing tool.
